Stream Teams United annually seeks a volunteer intern to assist with organizational advocacy efforts during the legislative session. Stream Teams United is a nonprofit organization that is made up of Missouri Stream Teams and supports education, stewardship, and advocacy for Missouri streams.
The application period for the 2023 legislative session is open. If you are interested in being an advocacy intern during 2023, send a resume, letter of interest, and two references to Mary at [email protected]. Deadline for applications is December 18, 2022. Duties of our advocacy interns include:
The internship position requires a commitment of 50-60 volunteer hours over the internship period, which is 22 weeks.

- Attend an initial orientation session via conference call
- Help identify proposed legislation that affects water resources and monitor its progression
- Assist in composing weekly Legislative Updates that will inform Stream Teams about legislation of concern
- Attend conference calls with advocacy committee
- Assist in education/outreach efforts on legislative issues via email marketing system, social media, and website posts
- An invitation to attend Conservation Day and Clean Water Day at the capitol
- Help research issues relating to water advocacy
