Public notice for construction of Missouri American Water Reservoir, in the Baynum Branch of Newton County, Missouri, for water supply for City of Joplin, Comment deadline: April 3, 2025. Missouri American Water Company is proposing the construction of an 820 acre water supply reservoir on Baynham Branch. Provide input to the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan through this short survey. Your help is needed! Missouri State Parks is updating its Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) in collaboration with the University of Missouri School of Natural Resources. The SCORP is a five-year plan that identifies the public outdoor recreation opportunities offered within the state, from local parks to state and national parks and everything in between. The SCORP also decides future outdoor recreation needs for Missouri. Please help guide this process by completing this brief 10-minute survey. Your responses will be used to set grant funding priorities for future outdoor recreation development throughout the state. Your responses will only be used for the SCORP and stay anonymous. March 24, 2025 - TMDL Second Public Notice Period Now Open for the Platte River. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has drafted a total maximum daily load (TMDL) report for the Platte River located in Andrew, Buchanan, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Nodaway, Platte, and Worth Counties. The TMDL report for the Platte River addresses E. coli impairments identified on Missouri’s Section 303(d) List of Impaired Waters. Following minor changes to the TMDL calculations and requests for additional time for review, the TMDL report is now available again for public review and comment. The department is accepting written comments on the document through March 24, 2025. The TMDL report can be viewed online at https://dnr.mo.gov/public-notices-comments.
Interested parties should address comments to Sebastien Clos-Versailles, TMDL Unit Chief, and email comments to [email protected], or mail them to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Protection Program, P.O.
